During a furnace tune-up we fire the burners and check the flame. Steady blue flames mean the burners and gas pressure are set correctly.

Heating Maintenance

Gas Furnace Annual Maintenance, Beaverton OR

Front panel off for annual maintenance. We inspect the inducer motor, gas valve and burners, then clean and test each part.

AC Repair

Ductless Heat Pump Pressure Check, Camas WA

Digital gauges connected to a ductless heat pump outdoor unit to read refrigerant pressures and temperatures. The readings show whether the charge is right before we touch anything.

AC Repair

Refrigerant Leak Found in a Copper Line, West Linn OR

A copper refrigerant line corroded all the way through. Leaks like this are why an AC slowly loses its cooling, and topping off refrigerant will not fix it.

AC Repair

Diagnosing an Older AC Condenser, Portland OR

Side panel off an older condenser to check the compressor, capacitor and wiring. On aging units we give an honest repair-or-replace recommendation.

AC Repair

Melted Wire at an AC Disconnect, Vancouver WA

A charred, melted conductor and green corrosion at the terminal block of an AC disconnect. A loose or corroded connection like this overheats and is a fire risk, so we replace the wiring and connection.

AC Repair

Frozen Evaporator Coil, Portland OR

An evaporator coil encased in ice. Icing usually comes from low airflow or low refrigerant, so we thaw the coil and track down the cause instead of just restarting the system.

Peeling back worn insulation reveals black corrosion along the copper suction line. Left alone, corrosion like this can eat through and leak refrigerant.

AC Repair

Refrigerant Leak at a Brazed Joint, Hillsboro OR

Oily residue at a brazed joint inside a condensing unit. Refrigerant carries oil, so an oily spot points us straight to the leak.

AC Maintenance
